v1.13.1 - Google Pay opens in Google's own window when a desktop Chrome window is too small for its sheet #
Desktop Chrome now refuses to open the Google Pay sheet in a browser window it cannot fit, and Google Pay looked unresponsive. The React and Vue checkouts now open Google Pay in Google's own window in that case, as on mobile, and explain any refusal instead of silently redrawing the buttons.

Recent Chrome versions on desktop refuse to open the Google Pay sheet when the browser window is too small to fit it, roughly under 680 by 640 pixels of page area. A docked developer-tools pane or a short laptop window is enough. Chrome reports this to the page only as a cancelled sheet, so tapping Google Pay appeared to do nothing except redraw the payment buttons.
What changed
- Google Pay opens in Google's own window in small desktop Chrome windows. When the checkout's wallet buttons load in such a window,
@flopay/reactand@flopay/vuerender Google Pay so that it opens Google's own payment window, the same experience buyers already get on mobile browsers, Safari and Firefox. In a larger window, and on Android, Chrome's built-in payment sheet is used as before. - Resizing is followed in React. If the buyer resizes the window across that size while no wallet payment is in progress,
@flopay/reactredraws the wallet buttons for the new size.@flopay/vuedecides once, when the wallet buttons load. - A refused sheet is explained. If Chrome still refuses the Google Pay sheet for lack of room, the buyer sees "Google Pay could not open because this browser window is too small for its payment sheet. Make the window larger and try again, or choose another payment method." with the retry button.
onErrorin@flopay/reactand@errorin@flopay/vuereceiveexternal_payment_method_failedwithdetails.providerCodeset towallet_sheet_window_too_small. A buyer who closes a sheet that did open still returns silently to the payment methods. - Apple Pay, PayPal and other methods are unchanged.
Integration notes
No change is required. If your onError handler (React) or @error listener (Vue) branches on details.providerCode, it may now see wallet_sheet_window_too_small for this case.
